I am writing in response to a post from 3/9/11
Twenty-one years of heartbreak: two stories illustrate why we can’t wait
This article was an eyeopener and hit very close to home. My name is Monica Cantu and I am one of the daughters of Lupita Cantu. I am writing in search for some answers, advice and some needed help. Nobody could have prepared me for the news and emotions I experienced 21 years after my mothers disappearance. Its hard for me to understand why after two years of hearing this news we are still unable to locate my mothers remains. My father has done so much research, has written many letters and to no avail has reached numerous dead ends. Its almost as if the case was opened to praise the detectives for solving a cold case. To my family this is far from over. We would like some closure, find her remains, to properly lay our Mother to rest and to capture her murder . During this ordeal I was made aware of the many remains found in the outer suburbs of major cities and in remembrance of my mother would love for my voice to be heard so no other family should endure the many heartaches we have. I thank you in advance for your time.

Monica, I can’t imagine the heartbreak your family has endured. Thank you for commenting, I will be in touch later today.
